Queen presence test

The queen test is used to determine whether a queen bee is present in the colony. For this purpose, a comb with young, open brood is taken from another colony and placed into the colony being tested. After one week, it is checked. If the larvae have developed normally, then a queen is present in the colony. However, if emergency queen cells have been built on the comb, then the colony is queenless.
