Buckfast bee
The Buckfast is not a natural subspecies of the honey bee, but a selectively bred hybrid developed by Brother Adam (Karl Kehrle) from various European strains, including Ligustica and Mellifera. The monk bred this bee at Buckfast Abbey. The bee is known for its exceptional gentleness, high productivity, low swarming tendency, and good disease resistance.
