Product information "Carnica nucleus colony on Simplex frames 2026"

Carnica Nucleus Colony on 5 Simplex Frames with Mated Queen

Our Carnica nucleus colonies on Simplex frames are carefully created using many years of beekeeping experience and provide ideal conditions for a successful start to the season or for expanding your apiary. Each nucleus colony consists of a well developed, balanced bee population with a beekeeping station mated Carnica queen that is already established and laying within the colony.

The Carnica honey bee (Apis mellifera carnica) is one of the most popular and widely kept bee subspecies in Europe. It is especially valued for its exceptional gentleness, excellent comb stability, and strong spring development. These characteristics make Carnica bees suitable for both beginner and professional beekeepers. Their calm temperament significantly simplifies hive inspections and reduces stress during colony management and honey harvesting. In addition, Carnica bees are known for their reliable colony growth, good adaptability to varying climatic conditions, and consistent honey production.

Supplied on Simplex Frames Dutch Standard Size

The nucleus colony is supplied on 5 wired Simplex frames in the Dutch standard size (435 × 218 mm) and is fully compatible with Simplex hive systems. The frames are pre-wired, providing a stable foundation for further comb building. Thanks to the standardized dimensions, the frames can be seamlessly integrated into existing Simplex hives without any modifications.

Composition of the Carnica Nucleus Colony

Each Carnica nucleus colony on Simplex frames is carefully assembled and consists of:

  • 3 brood frames with open and capped brood for rapid colony development

  • 1 food frame to ensure sufficient nutrition after installation

  • 1 partially built frame to support natural comb construction and ongoing colony growth

The mated Carnica queen is already in full lay and firmly accepted by the colony. Controlled mating at a mating station ensures high genetic quality, which positively influences gentleness, productivity, and long term colony stability.

The Simplex frames in Dutch standard size are precisely manufactured to ensure a secure fit within the hive. The wiring supports even comb construction and helps the nucleus colony develop quickly and smoothly after installation.

Safe Shipping & Stress Free Delivery

To ensure that your Carnica nucleus colonies on Simplex frames arrive healthy, strong, and with minimal stress, shipping is carried out exclusively in specially designed bee transport boxes. These transport packages securely hold the frames in place while providing adequate food supply and optimal airflow throughout the entire journey, ensuring the bees’ well-being during transport.

The exact shipping and delivery date will be communicated to you approximately 2–7 days prior to dispatch via email, allowing you sufficient time to prepare for the arrival of the nucleus colony. Please ensure that you are available at the specified delivery address (home or apiary) at the announced time so the bees can be promptly removed from the transport box and installed into the hive.

Delivery of our Carnica nucleus colonies on Simplex frames is available within Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, Belgium, and Luxembourg. Delivery to islands is only possible if a direct road connection to the mainland exists, as this is essential to guarantee safe and stress-free transport of the bees.
