Our Buckfast nucleus colonies on Simplex frames are created with great care and based on many years of beekeeping experience. They offer ideal conditions for a successful start to the beekeeping season or for the targeted expansion of your apiary. Each nucleus colony consists of a well developed, balanced bee population with a Buckfast queen mated at a mating station, already well established in the colony and actively laying.
The Buckfast bee (Apis mellifera) is renowned worldwide for its high performance, exceptional gentleness, and excellent colony development. It is characterized by calm behavior on the comb, low swarming tendency, and steady, strong development throughout the season. Thanks to its adaptability to a wide range of climatic conditions, the Buckfast bee is suitable for both beginner and experienced beekeepers. In addition, it is highly valued for its stable honey production and ease of handling.
Supplied on Simplex Frames the Dutch Standard Size
The nucleus colony is supplied on 5 wired Simplex frames in the Dutch standard size (435 × 218 mm) and is fully compatible with Simplex hive systems. The pre-wired frames provide a stable foundation for further comb building and support rapid colony development. Thanks to the standardized Simplex dimensions, the frames can be easily integrated into existing hives without any modifications.

Delivery of our Buckfast nucleus colonies on Simplex frames is available within Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, Belgium, and Luxembourg. Delivery to islands is only possible if a direct road connection to the mainland exists, ensuring safe and stress-free transport of the bees.
